It's worth being clear about what UV inspection actually is: a helpful diagnostic tool, not a guarantee. It can help highlight areas worth focused treatment, but it doesn't detect every contaminant, and it isn't a substitute for a full assessment of the carpet and pad condition.

What Professional Treatment Actually Does
Once problem areas are identified, professional treatment targets them specifically — often with a different approach than the general hot water extraction used across the rest of the carpet. This can meaningfully reduce both visible staining and odor in most cases.
What we won't do is promise 100% removal in every situation. When Pad Replacement Might Be the More Honest Answer
If UV inspection and treatment history point to saturation that's gone well beyond the surface fiber — repeated accidents in the same spot over an extended period, for example — cleaning may improve things without fully resolving them, because the contamination has reached the pad or subfloor. In those specific cases, we'll say so directly rather than keep charging for repeat cleanings that can't fully solve a pad-level issue. Pad replacement is outside what carpet cleaning addresses, but knowing that distinction upfront saves homeowners money on treatments that were never going to fully fix the underlying problem.
